Review : Butter London Products!

 -|:Youtube :|: Facebook :|: Twitter :|: PrettyDNA :|: Vlog :|: FourSquare :|-

Hi all,
I wanted to introduce you guys to some awesome butter london products I received in the mail a few days ago.  I was contacted by butter london, asking if I had any products I wanted to try out.  Knowing how great my single butter london nail polish is (you can read about my review here) - I asked for two nail polishes and a lippy without hesitation.

So here there are!!

Yay!!! so so so so so SOOOO pretty!!
From left to right : Rosie Lee, Trout Pout and Lippy in Trout Pout.

I had such a hard time choosing what colors I should get, but I decided to go with the "safe" and "well-complimented" colors.
Coral-pink never disappoints.  It seems like the ultimate compliment-attracter, so I went with the super famous Trout Pout.  For the second color, I wanted something I don't have in my collection. I think I have more than enough polishes, but if you look closely into it I tend to overbuy similar colors without that much variety (woah-runon sentence).

Here's how the packages look like :)
LONG LIVE NAILS!
I love the slogan and the bird with the crown.

Here's Trout Pout.

It's a very pretty (and bright!) coral/pink color. The application glides on like butter and the consistency is thick.  I like how I only had to use one coat. On top of the great application, the drying power is insane.  As soon as I painted my nails, I started snapping pictures, and while doing all that the nails were already dry.
I applied my polish on a rough surface (I didn't file or buff, it was straight on raw nails) and it still managed to smooth out evenly on the surface.

Indoor lighting and the closeup is a bit deceiving.  In real life, the polish looks more like the above picture.  It's very summer appropriate without over doing it.

Next is the gorgeous Rosie Lee

It's a glitter polish!!
To be honest, I wasn't impressed with the glitter in the bottle.  It looked more like foil and I wasn't sure how it was going to look on the nail.  I picked this color mainly because I wanted to use it as an accent color (for the tip of my nails or more for decorative layer over a solid color).

However, I decided to swatch it entirely on my nails and I was in awe of how pretty the glitters are.

Hard to see?

Here's a better look.

Oh my!!! all the glitters!!

I do have to admit that this isn't the easiest polish to apply.
It's glitter, so obviously the texture of the glitters make it harder to apply evenly.  One coat isn't even going to cut it.  You have to apply at least 2x-3x of layers to get the look on my nails. Also, the glitters tend to chunk together if you use short brush strokes, which will leave "holes" in the application.

Other than the though application, I really have nothing to complain about this polish.

I know the picture is shaky, but I think it captures the reflectiveness very well.

Last but not least is the Lippy, which is relatively new.  Along with nail polishes, I think Butter London is pushing out lip glosses that correspond to their best selling colors.  So far they only have a hand full of colors. I originally asked for primrose hill picnic (which is a bright fuchsia color), but due to their shortages, I ended up with trout pout.

Like it's sister nail polish product, trout pout is a coral/pink color. If you compare the bottles side by side, they have almost identical matching colors.

First, the application.
I LOVE the application. It's so smooth and creamy, minus the stickiness.  I like how the color doesn't crease or sit in between my lines.  It just goes on smooth like the nail polish while smoothing itself out with no effort.
Next, the scent.
The smell of this lip gloss is divine.  I love the melon-sweet scent it has.  It's such a fruity, summery scent, I just had to stand still and sniff the bottle for a whole minute.
Last, the longevity.
The lip gloss lasts for a very long time without smudging.
I like how it doesn't get smacked around or clumps, even with intense pouting and rubbing of lips.

Overall, I think this lip gloss is all you could ask for.
The color is gorgeous, the scent is great and the formula is flawless.

Out of the three products, I actually like the lippy the best.

And.. here's how it looks on the lips.
Sorry I look a bit exhausted.  Work and traffic drains a lot out of me.
But, back to the lippy - it doesn't overdo itself and is great for any occasion! :) yay!! I really like it!

Thanks for reading! :)

  12. whenever I think of coral i think of you because you were the first person that got me interested and for the longest time I couldn't figure out what was defined as coral. anyways always love your posts. I think it's so smart for Butter London to come out with lip glosses corresponding with their lacquer colours.
